This cosy 400 year old cottage sleeps 2+2 plus cot. The ground floor consists of a lounge with wood burning stove inset in a large inglenook fireplace. Modern fully fitted, well equipped kitchen area. Narrow stairs lead to shower room with WC and wash hand basin, on up to the large bedroom with double bed, single futon and bed settee. Beamed throughout.

Outside:- Patio with furniture. Barbecue with tools. Use of the orchard with picnic table.

Ample parking.

Pets are welcome but must be kept under control as livestock are near.

  • Special rates for those guests wishing to fish or try their hand at doing some stained glass

The Old Smoke House – Access Statement

Approached via concreted yard to hard standing parking in front of cottage.

2 steps lead up to the front door.

This leads immediately to the open plan ground floor, consisting of kitchen, dining area and lounge, with ample natural light. Task lighting provided as required. Remote TV controls.

Narrow open plan stairs with hand rail lead up to the shower room with wc and whb, then up to the spacious bedroom. Be aware that the exposed beams of the “A” frames are of different heights – tall people may have to duck their heads under the beam furthest away from the stairs!

Service dogs are very welcome.

The Smoke House enjoys the use of the gently sloping lawn of the orchard opposite the front door, together with the level patio area with picnic table and barbeque.
